Are the materials heat-resistant or waterproof?

The heat resistance and waterproof qualities of 3D printing filaments vary depending on the material used. Here’s what you should know:
Heat Resistance:
PLA – Low heat resistance; softens around 60°C (140°F). Not ideal for hot environments.
PETG – Moderate heat resistance, up to 75°C (167°F); better for warm conditions.
ABS – High heat resistance, withstands up to ~105°C (221°F); good for automotive or outdoor parts.
Nylon & ASA – Excellent heat resistance, durable even in high-temperature applications.
Water Resistance:
PLA & PETG – Water-resistant, but not fully waterproof; PETG performs better in humid conditions.
ABS & ASA – More resistant to water but may degrade over long exposure to moisture.
Nylon & TPU – Flexible and highly water-resistant, good for gaskets, seals, or outdoor use.
If you need a print that can withstand heat or prolonged water exposure, PETG, ABS, ASA, or Nylon are your best options. Let me know if you need help choosing the right material!
